This Forum on March 12, 2010 underscores the achievements of the industry and the coming era of new age lighting technology. To build that future Taiwan has over the past three decades developed LED to the point where its now accounts for 40% of global output capacity.

And that stacks up well for the future since the global lighting market is projected to reach a value of US$117.8bn by 2012, which includes US$5.29bn in LED lighting fixtures. In LED lighting is projected to have a penetration rate of up to 80% over the next decade.
